2017 brings the 35th anniversary for the Mighty Dee. This makes the Dee the oldest Sunday League team in Chester and defies the usual modus operandum for a Sunday league team by not just being a generational concept.
Enough of the long words. To celebrate this achievement, Dee Rangers have had a Real Ale (a huge part of their heritage and a large factor behind their perennial under-achievement) brewed in their name – see below:
The celebrations go even further. On Saturday May 20th the usual Vets v Sunday team match will not take place on Hoole Park….oh no! For this auspicious occasion, the coffers have been raided and the Deva Stadium has been booked. All monies raised on the day will of course go to the Clatterbridge Cancer Research programme, set up in the memory of the fabulous but alas departed Tom Arnold.
