Dee Rangers FC : Founded in 1982, DRFC are the oldest serving club in the Chester & District Sunday League.
Rangers still play in their original Blue & White Hoops and stick to the traditions of being a ‘good bunch of lads’ who play the game the right way. The Real Ale tradition (seen in the badge) is still nominally around – homage is always paid to real ale on team doos. The general tradition of graduates and undergraduates only, has on the whole been kept up, with “The Doc” Andy Rowntree being known as the most recent Hoop in an Academic Cap – although Delgado’s HND in Bingo at “Wrexham University” is spurious at best. The 3rd element of our badge is a mystery.
2009 brought about Rangers’ most successful campaign to date, finishing 4th in the Section ‘A’ and controversially losing the Cup Final in extra time. 2012 saw a relegation to Section B, but an immediate return under the guidance of club Legend Pete Mort was secured thanks to a 4-3 win in the middle of May! A further relegation has seen a more youthful and most impressive set of younger players join the club under the excellent guidance of Ryan Williams…..watch this space.
Rangers currently play at Hoole Park, Chester. You want in?? Contact Ryan Williams – see contact page.
